1. About these terms
Handy, listed on the App Store as Handy: Snippets & Files, is owned and provided by Vairagya Ltd (“Vairagya”, “we”, “us” or “our”). These terms describe your use of Handy and its optional paid features.
Vairagya Ltd is a private company limited by shares, incorporated under the Companies Act 2006 in England and Wales, United Kingdom, with company number 9360006. Its registered office is at 128 City Road, London EC1V 2NX, United Kingdom. Contact us at apps@vairagya.co.
Please read these terms before using Handy or purchasing Handy Pro. If you use Handy for an organisation, you must have authority to act for it. If you cannot legally enter an agreement yourself, a parent or guardian must authorise your use where required by law. The App Store age rating is not a statement of contractual capacity.
Your software licence is governed by Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement (the “Apple Standard EULA”). These terms supplement that licence with Handy-specific information; they do not replace it or restrict rights granted by mandatory law or Apple’s applicable usage rules. If these terms conflict with the Apple Standard EULA on software licensing, that EULA controls. The Apple Media Services Terms govern your use of Apple’s store and services.
2. What Handy does
Handy helps you save, organise, find and reuse text, links, images, short videos, files and documents on supported iPhone and iPad devices. Features include explicit capture, a reusable-content library, a keyboard extension, optional iCloud sync and optional automation and intelligent features.
Handy does not continuously monitor everything you copy. You choose what to save. Saving from a share extension may queue content until the main app can finish importing it; a capture confirmation does not necessarily mean the item has already been added to your library or synced.
Availability depends on your device, operating system, permissions, available storage, purchased features and relevant Apple services. Check the current App Store listing and in-app descriptions for compatibility and supported formats.
3. Your content and permitted use
You retain your rights in the content you save. We do not acquire ownership of your snippets, images or documents. You authorise only the processing needed to perform the actions you request, such as local storage, indexing, thumbnail generation, optional sync and sharing. These terms do not grant us permission to sell your saved content or use it to train our own AI models.
You must have the rights or permissions needed to save, process and share your content, including any personal or confidential information it contains. Use Handy lawfully and respect others’ intellectual property, privacy and confidentiality. Do not use it to distribute malware, obtain unauthorised access, evade purchase verification or interfere with the app or its services. Statutory rights concerning interoperability, security research and permitted software use remain unaffected.
You are responsible for checking the destination and content before inserting, copying, sharing or exporting it. Handy cannot withdraw content already delivered to another app or person.
4. Free features and Handy Pro
Handy has a free tier and an optional Handy Pro one-time purchase. Pro is not an automatically renewing subscription.
At the date of these terms, the free tier supports up to 20 active items, with new files up to 10 MB and videos up to 15 seconds. Pro removes the active-item limit and supports files up to 50 MB and videos up to 60 seconds, subject to available storage and operational safeguards. Text snippets are limited to 100 KB. MB and KB refer to decimal byte limits.
Pro also enables creating and adding to collections, Siri and Shortcuts actions, new text extraction for searching inside supported images and documents, on-device organisation suggestions, and library archive import. Existing extracted text may remain searchable without an active Pro entitlement. The keyboard, share capture, optional iCloud sync, tags, pins and library export are available in the free tier, subject to their technical limits.
Existing items are not erased or locked merely because you exceed free limits or no longer have a verified Pro entitlement. In-app retrieval, reuse, editing, deletion, restoration from Recently Deleted and export remain available. Pro-only entry points, such as Siri actions and archive import, still require Pro. Existing collections can be viewed and maintained as allowed in the app, but adding content to them requires Pro.
“Unlimited items” does not mean unlimited device storage, iCloud storage, file size or transfer capacity. Limits and feature descriptions are shown in the app. Changes will not retrospectively remove the core paid functionality promised with your purchase, except where required by law or unavoidable platform changes, subject to your applicable remedies.
5. Purchase, restoration and refunds
The price, currency and applicable taxes presented by Apple before confirmation apply to your purchase. Promotions apply only on the terms and dates displayed. A later price change does not create a recurring charge or require an existing purchaser to buy the same entitlement again.
A lifetime or permanent Pro purchase means the entitlement has no scheduled expiry and does not require renewal payments. It does not guarantee that every future device or operating system will remain compatible, that third-party services will operate indefinitely, or that a separate future product is included. It does not limit support, update or other obligations imposed by applicable law.
Apple processes App Store payments. Handy uses RevenueCat to help verify purchases and maintain access. No Handy account is required. Purchase verification can involve transaction information and an app-specific identifier, as explained in our Privacy Policy. Handy does not send your saved library content to RevenueCat for purchase verification.
Use Restore Purchases with the Apple Account associated with the purchase if access is missing. Restoring or initially verifying a purchase may require an internet connection. Previously verified access can work offline on that installation; a reinstall or account change may require verification again. Family Sharing applies only where enabled for the purchase and supported by Apple’s rules.
If Apple refunds or revokes a transaction, the associated Pro entitlement may be removed. Your existing library remains subject to the access protections in section 4.
For Apple-billed purchases, request a refund through Apple’s purchase support. Eligibility depends on Apple’s process and applicable law. This does not remove any right to a remedy from Vairagya Ltd under consumer law. Contact us if the app does not work as promised; there is no blanket “no refunds” rule in these terms.
6. Local storage, iCloud and backups
Your library is stored locally. If you enable sync, Handy uses Apple’s private iCloud/CloudKit services associated with your Apple Account. Vairagya does not operate a server that stores your library content. Apple services remain subject to Apple’s terms, settings and availability.
Sync depends on connectivity, account access, available iCloud space and the ability of each device to run the app. Updates and deletions may not reach every device immediately. Sync conflicts or account changes may require your attention in the app. Turning sync off does not itself delete content already stored in iCloud or on another device.
Sync is not an independent backup. Changes and deletions can propagate. Keep separate copies of important material and use library export when appropriate. Deleting the app, losing a device or losing access to an Apple Account can affect access to content. We cannot promise to recover data that is no longer available locally, in your exports or through Apple services. These practical precautions do not exclude our responsibility where the law makes us liable for loss.
7. Keyboard, sharing and automation
Installing the keyboard and enabling Full Access are optional. Saved text and links can be inserted without Full Access. Copying supported images or PDFs through the keyboard requires Full Access, followed by your paste action in a compatible destination. Handy does not promise automatic image or file insertion into every text field.
Some apps and secure fields do not permit third-party keyboards. File support and size limits differ between the library, keyboard and destination apps. A document may be listed in the keyboard even when it must be shared from the main app.
Handy’s keyboard is designed for explicit content reuse, not collection of what you type in other keyboards or transmission of your typing to us. Siri, Shortcuts and destination apps operate under their own permissions and terms. Check automated workflows before running them, particularly where they transmit content.
8. Search and intelligent features
Search, recognised text and generated suggestions can be incomplete or inaccurate. On-device organisation suggestions require compatible hardware, software and model availability; purchasing Pro does not make an unsupported Apple feature available on your device.
Review suggestions before accepting them and check source material before relying on extracted text. Generated metadata is separate from original content; accepted changes to titles, tags or organisation follow your choices. Handy does not provide professional advice or verify the truth, authenticity or legal status of your documents.
9. App-only visibility, deletion and archives
App-only visibility excludes an item from Handy’s external discovery surfaces, including its keyboard and Siri retrieval. It is not a separate password lock or an additional encryption layer. App-only items can still sync through your enabled private iCloud library and can be explicitly shared or exported from the app.
Making an item app-only or deleting it does not recall previously shared copies or erase labels and content someone saved in their own shortcuts or other apps.
Recently Deleted allows restoration while the item is retained. Permanent deletion cannot be undone through Handy. It removes the item’s recoverable library content and schedules associated cleanup; syncing devices apply the deletion when they receive it. Limited content-free identifiers may remain to prevent old offline changes from restoring the deleted item. Cleanup can be delayed where files remain in use, are needed by another item, or storage is temporarily inaccessible. This is not a promise of forensic erasure from operating-system snapshots, third-party backups or previously exported copies.
A library export may contain app-only and Recently Deleted items. Handy archives are not password-protected by Handy. Store and share them carefully. Import requires Pro, validates supported archives and adds recovered content according to the app’s import rules. Do not assume an export includes pending share captures, unresolved sync alternatives or every device’s changes; confirm important content is present before removing its source.
10. Privacy and third-party services
Our Privacy Policy at https://vairagya.co/handy/privacy explains personal-data processing, purchase services, support communications and your privacy rights. These terms do not replace that policy or serve as blanket consent for unrelated data collection.
Apple, RevenueCat and apps you choose to share with may process information under their own applicable policies. You must comply with third-party terms relevant to your use. We remain responsible for our own legal obligations; mentioning third-party services does not transfer those obligations to you.
11. Ownership and support
Vairagya Ltd and its licensors retain rights in Handy’s software, branding and other app materials. Your content is excluded from that ownership. Third-party and open-source components remain subject to their applicable licences. Your right to use the app is governed by the Apple Standard EULA.
For support or complaints, contact apps@vairagya.co. Vairagya is responsible for support it offers and support required by law. Apple’s role in store distribution does not make Apple responsible for providing Handy-specific support.
12. Reliability and your legal rights
We aim to provide Handy with reasonable care and skill. We do not promise uninterrupted operation, perfect search or AI accuracy, compatibility with every destination app, or immediate sync. We will honour rights and remedies that applicable law gives you for defective or misdescribed digital content.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Nothing removes mandatory consumer guarantees, required updates, refund rights or other non-waivable protections. The Apple Standard EULA addresses additional licence warranties and liability, subject to those same mandatory protections. These terms impose no separate monetary liability cap or mandatory arbitration requirement.
13. Updates, changes and ending use
We may update Handy to fix issues, improve features, address security or comply with legal and platform requirements. Some updates may change supported operating systems or optional integrations. Where reasonably practicable, we will give advance notice of a material reduction or discontinuation and an opportunity to export your content. Your statutory rights and the purchase protections in section 4 remain unaffected.
We may revise these terms for relevant legal, product or operational changes. We will update the revision date and give appropriate notice of material changes through the app or another suitable channel. Where law requires your agreement, we will obtain it. Changes are not applied retroactively to remove accrued rights or resolve an existing dispute in our favour.
You can stop using Handy at any time. Export anything you want to keep before uninstalling. Uninstalling is not a request to delete iCloud copies or a refund request. Termination of the software licence is governed by the Apple Standard EULA and applicable law; we do not claim a general right to confiscate your saved content.
14. Disputes and contact
Please contact us first so we can try to resolve a concern. You remain free to use any court, regulator or dispute-resolution procedure available to you by law. These supplementary terms do not select an exclusive court or override mandatory protections in your country of residence. Applicable law determines the governing law and competent courts for matters not addressed by the Apple Standard EULA.
If a provision cannot lawfully be enforced, the remaining provisions continue to apply so far as the law permits. A delay in enforcing a right does not itself waive that right.
